Roping Saddles
Roping events could become a very demanding and punishing sport that would require strength ad endurance from both the rider and the horse. Roping saddles are designed to create maximum freedom of movement of the rider. A well designed roping saddle with a strong horn and tree can make it easier for the rider to chase and catch the cow to the horn.
Common modern roping saddles have deep seats with fenders hung in a position that would ensure that riders are up and balanced when they are about to rope. These also have very strong trees and horns to enable the rider to endure the sudden strong jerks of the cow or a steer at the other end of the rope.

The other typical features of a roping saddle are: a wood saddle tree usually with a bullhide for great strength and power, a low and rounder fork to keep down the rope's leverage on both the horse and the horn and for it not to interfere with a swinging rope, full double rigging, front cinch and flank cinch, with the former in full position, a tall and thick horn, usually with a horn wrap for greater grip, a low cantle for easier dismount, a rough out or suede, deep seat also for maximum grip, roper style, deep and and wide stirrups, heavy weight, a rope strap that could hold the lariat and lastly, stirrups that are hung a bit more forward than usual so that the rider will be able to put their feet forward or be able to brace the stirrups whenever necessary.
